Kaede

Hideout

A treetop retreat evoking childhood nostalgia, perfect for a weekend escape.

cabin Details

When nostalgia meets nature, elevated.

Kaede Hideout is a tree-level cabin inspired by the idea of a hideaway. Lifted above the ground, it offers a different way of being in nature, closer to the canopy and slightly removed from what happens below.

The structure is lightweight and designed to touch the site as lightly as possible. Timber, careful foundations and a compact footprint help limit disturbance to the landscape. Large openings provide views through the trees while still offering privacy and shelter.

Passive ventilation and good insulation keep the interior comfortable across seasons. The cabin can be used for short stays, writing retreats or quiet time away from everyday routines.

Kaede Hideout is about perspective and distance. It creates a simple, contained place where you can step back and observe both the landscape and yourself.

With this design, we aimed to evoke the feeling of being in the treetops, drawing on childhood memories of hideaways while creating a calm place for a quiet weekend away.
